Three generations of family on the farm

Shaw’s Quality Meats prides itself on being a traditional friendly family business offering top quality meat and service with a smile.

David is a second generation butcher with over 25 years experience in the industry, and a speciality in smallgoods manufacturing. David and Michelle lead a team of experienced butchers that are ready to cut local quality meat to your requirements.

The Farm

Our farm is an 86 acre irrigation farm located at the foot of the hills at Boisdale.

We have happy healthy steers that spend their days grazing on green pastures and relaxing next to the tranquil Avon River. We grow our beef to a live weight of 500kg-550kg for a dressed weight of between 250kg-300kg. Our paddock to plate philosophy is about serving local quality meat at an affordable price to Gippsland and beyond.

Our butcher shops stock all traditional cuts as well as modern cut meats and ready-made items. Our award winning smallgoods range is all made on the premises and is available at local outlets in East Gippsland. We stock local free range eggs and assortment of condiments. 

Our small goods have won numerous awards and are all made and packed on the premises. From traditional long rasher bacon to pastrami and a range of kabanas, chorizos, smoked fish and chicken to award winning hams, Shaw’s has you covered for all occasions. Beef

Our beef is from our own farm situated at the foot of the hills in Gippsland next to the Avon River. Our beef is all free range and pasture feed. We process and hang carcasses in our shop before breaking them down into the delicious cuts we sell.


Pork

Our pork is free roaming and sourced from Skylor Park, Forge Creek, in fertile East Gippsland.


Chicken

Our chicken is chemical free from award winning La Ionica. Our passion is to deliver humane, ethical, and quality local products with low food miles.


Lamb

Our lambs are sourced from various boutique farms in the Gippsland area.
